It would be good to have the ability to move the HDRI backdrop up and down as well as being able to rotate it horizontally as currently

yes, I agree with you and sometimes the HDRI backgrounds are too close. But this seems to be a phenomenon of all rendering programs. So I have to use Photoshop or Luminar to correct this.
